Numbers go up!

I grabbed this in 96 I think it was? Spending a week in London working intensely on a certain style of photography I got this from when the Docklands area was transformed into a financial district.

Its taken from the automated light railway, I kept it in my physical portfolio for a decade because of the mood, it worked well as a darkroom print.

Empty, eerie, almost as out of some scifi movie, that is what the Docklands was right then...

Numbers certainly kept going up after that! Yes there were some speedbumps, but still these forces transformed and disfigured the world.

Now that numbers will really go up I keep wondering which numbers will go down...

This is Lynx, our now loyal & smart cat, one of 23 :-)

Its been fascinating to see how they evolve, how they think, which ones survive, and who they become through that process... I'll certainly do much more about them soon!

Their numbers kept going up, although many died off in so many ways... Now they know a lot about survival collectively, actually they're a well behaved, improbably flock :-)

And then the big question: what if numbers keep going up in a fugazi world, while our numbers slide towards 500 million?

We'll have to watch that one closely...
